Nuno Lourenço What's not to LOVE about this album? From the "A Forest of Stars" and "Devil Doll" references in the vox, 'till the crushing riffs and the thoughtful violin and piano. Everything sounds simply perfect!

Eric Vegas Dreadful. A bleak reminder of the horrors of empire. Listen if you’re feeling doomer, but then get back out there with your comrades there’s still work to do. Favorite track: Speak Not Of The Laudanum Quandary.

黑之爱丽丝 My student budget usually tells me to not buy albums I can acquire using more shady means. I pirated this but damn these guys need more of your coin.
I've listened to this album regularly for a year now. It's worth so much more than 7 euros.
Take some time to get used to the vocals and violin leads. Your reward will be worth it. Favorite track: Fever Sheds.

ناهل Been following this amazing, talented band for a while now and I must say: I'm never disappointed. Always so peculiar, they gained their rightful place in my collection; this first album is by far one of the most mesmerizing and well-mixed I've ever had the chance to listen to. I hope the ever so satisfying sound will keep on flowing through the years. Cheers!! Favorite track: The Wretched Mills.

about

"Speak Not of the Laudanum Quandary" is a harrowing, yet distinctly human odyssey through the absurdities and tragedies of British imperialism, voiced in an appropriately deranged sprechgesang by the band’s creative director, Alasdair Dunn. The band takes influence from the original approach to black metal found in bands such as A Forest of Stars, Dødheimsgard, Vulture Industries and Pensées Nocturnes, along with a strong taste for theatrics in the vein of Devil Doll and Diamanda Galas.
